Revelation 22:17

Introduction
  • God reveals himself to us in three different ways

Father of love
  • God loves us and
  • 1 John 2:15 - “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
  • 1 John 3:1 - “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”
  • 1John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
  • 1John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
  • The ultimate expression of that love was that he gave up the most precious things he possessed, his Son
  • Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • Like identical twins, life revolves around the other twin

Son of compassion

  • John 14:8-14

  • Matthew 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
  • Matthew 18:27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
  • Mark 1:41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

Spirit of comfort
  • Rom 5:5 - “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
  • 1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
  • Holy Spirit sent as another Comforter
  • Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
  • Holy Spirit is the breath of God
  • Is intimately involved in all that God does

Conclusion
